Jorge Parisotto was national chaplain to the Brazilian JOC during the dictatorship period of the 1960s and 1970s and later regional chaplain for the Americas.

Biography

Born in Antônio Prado - the most Italian city in Brazil - in Rio Grande do Sul state on 26 April 1944, Fr Jorge Parisotto was the national chaplain to the Brazilian JOC during the period of dictatorship during the 1960s and 1970s.

He was chaplain to the JOC in the cities of Caxia, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro as well as national chaplain.

Later, he was regional chaplain for the Americas based in Bogota, Colombia.

Returning to Serra Gaucha in 1984, he worked in the communities of St Joseph and Holy Family neighborhoods where he remained for more than 13 years. He also worked in the parish of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of Caravaggio, both in Farrukhabad.

He died on 3 September 2016 at the age of 72.
