Fr Eugene Langdale was a pioneer of Catholic social work in England and a close friend of Cardinal Cardijn.
Ordained in 1934, Fr Langdale was instrumental with others in bringing the Y.C.W. Movement to England. During the war he was an Army chaplain.
He translated many articles by Cardijn into English, including those published in the book, Challenge to Action.
He died on Tuesday 10 October 1967, aged 58, at his parish, St. Thomas More's, Eastcote, Middlesex.
